Rice got supended for hitting a woman Peterson suspended for disciplining his child And Hernandez hasn't played since he actually killed some one I don't think Brady should get a year but at most 3 games. He had to be involved in the deflating and tje NFL has to take some kind of action. This is kind like corking your bat in baseball. |

The most common arguments against a suspension I've heard coming out of Boston are "but lots of teams cheat!" or "there was no hard evidence!" Brady/the Pats were dumb enough to get caught (again). As for the hard evidence, I still think if Brady really had nothing to do with it he'd have given up his texts to the investigation in about 5 seconds and wouldn't need his agent to fight his battles for him. More and more places are saying Brady's definitely getting suspended but I won't believe it until I see it. |

Pats released CB Kyle Arrington (cap reasons) and signed TE Fred Davis.
Meanwhile a US Senator is upset at a sponsorship deal the league has with the military. More upset that it was discovered the National Guard has to pay teams for advertising than NFL teams doing it for free. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/12...deal-nfl-teams |

In other Jaguars draft bust news...Justin Blackmon was denied reinstatement from his indefinite suspension, so it's looking like he'll miss a second straight year. His career is probably over.

Goodell is so full of shit. Should have already been fired cause of the Ray Rice fiasco. He's got no leg to stand on pulling this. If this suspension holds his first game will be against the Colts. Prepare to die Indianapolis. You're in for the biggest asskicking of a lifetime.

It's basically a 3 game suspension as the Jags will struggle to win a single game this year.
As a Giants fan it does suck that he'll miss the Dallas game |

Questions Tom Brady's integrity and gives license for retards to belittle his accomplishments. Not a Pats fan at all. In fact, I outright don't like them. But Tom Brady is a once in a lifetime player. Just feel bad for him.

The Colts should be ashamed of themselves, honestly. Putting on such a piss poor performance and then essentially publically lynching Tom Brady out of frustration. Jim Irsay has always been garbage. Helping to change NFL rules so that it benefits his team, throwing a fit and finding excuses when they lose...
Ugh. Such a circus. |

As I said, I do think a suspension had to happen (but didn't think it would) because there's more than enough out there to show he knowingly broke the rules. Whether or not said ball altering (lol) led to a better performance is irrelevant.
But 4 games is excessive. 2 games would have been fine. Hell, even 1 game. Having to miss the game where the banner is lowered and you're meant to celebrate the Super Bowl one last time would have been punishment enough for a guy like Brady. |

A suspension absolutely did not have to happen at all. All they have is circumstantial evidence. There is no hard evidence to support their claim whatsoever. The NFL had a video of Ray Rice beating the living bejesus out of his wife and gave him 2 games. (And yes, they had the tape. If they can say that Brady absolutely tampered then they absolutely had the tape. )
There needs to be some sort of written parameters for the length of suspensions. Their priorities are seriously so fucking mind boggling that it is comical. |

Don't get how the Pats get that harsh of a punishment when the report itself cleared them from Deflategate.
Brady getting punished was going to happen once it was found he wasn't supply the evidence the NFL wanted but even 4 games seems a bit harsh for something that was only "probable" on his part. Colts getting nothing for having their own balls deflated also seems dumb. Bunch of teams ended up getting busted or in trouble for deflating balls last season and nothing happened to them. |

Just read up some more and the basis for both punishments ended up being because Spygate was invoked during the punishment discussions.

Brady's failure to cooperate with the investigation also raised a huge red flag for the league. Again, if there was zero dirt on him he'd have done what was asked and cleared his name in 2 seconds. 4 games is still too much, thoug.
Don't understand the draft pick docking at all. |

Unless you believe there's a big conspiracy behind it all, I think it's pretty safe to say Brady knew what was going on and even had a hand in it. Not sure why everyone is so appalled. Taking out the Ray Rice comparison of course. Just looking at this situation on its own, I can't see how this is so shocking.

I don't know. He called the suspension and the exact amount of games while you dick-ishly called him daft and said there was "no way". Seems like you were the daft one in the end. Just sayin'.

Brady was not the one shooting the balls but it seems clear he was telling them what to do and going along with it. Would not surprise me in the least if the hard evidence was the shit Brady refused to hand over. He immediately called one of the staffers right after the story surfaced. He knew they were busted. |

Also the Pats will definitely appeal and they MIGHT manager to get the punishments lessened to a degree, but not totally dropped.
The CBA is written in such a way that the commissioner basically has unilateral control to do whatever he wants. It will be incredibly difficult to get everything dropped. The only reason Rice's indefinite suspension was dropped was because they had already slapped him with the retardedly small 2 game suspension and they tried to basically undo it and re-suspend him for a longer period of time. |

Thought 3 games would be fair but four works. Comparing this to the Rice suspension doesn't make any since. Rice had a problem off the field and Brady cheated in a game he didn't need to. The NFL has had a bad rep the last couple of years but I think they got this one right. They couldnt let Brady off after screwing with the integrity of the game, so the made an example out off him.
