I'd be fine with 3-4 games. I haven't seen a compelling argument to not suspend Brady. I think any rational person would agree that deflating the footballs probably didn't do much in the long run and that it's certainly not the reason the Pats smashed the Colts and are good year in and year out. But you can't just let guys fuck around with the equipment. Doesn't matter who it is. If you let someone break the rules and not punish them, why have rules?

The most common arguments against a suspension I've heard coming out of Boston are "but lots of teams cheat!" or "there was no hard evidence!" Brady/the Pats were dumb enough to get caught (again). As for the hard evidence, I still think if Brady really had nothing to do with it he'd have given up his texts to the investigation in about 5 seconds and wouldn't need his agent to fight his battles for him.

More and more places are saying Brady's definitely getting suspended but I won't believe it until I see it.

As I said, I do think a suspension had to happen (but didn't think it would) because there's more than enough out there to show he knowingly broke the rules. Whether or not said ball altering (lol) led to a better performance is irrelevant.

But 4 games is excessive. 2 games would have been fine. Hell, even 1 game. Having to miss the game where the banner is lowered and you're meant to celebrate the Super Bowl one last time would have been punishment enough for a guy like Brady.

A suspension absolutely did not have to happen at all. All they have is circumstantial evidence. There is no hard evidence to support their claim whatsoever. The NFL had a video of Ray Rice beating the living bejesus out of his wife and gave him 2 games. (And yes, they had the tape. If they can say that Brady absolutely tampered then they absolutely had the tape. )

There needs to be some sort of written parameters for the length of suspensions. Their priorities are seriously so fucking mind boggling that it is comical.

Don't get how the Pats get that harsh of a punishment when the report itself cleared them from Deflategate.

Brady getting punished was going to happen once it was found he wasn't supply the evidence the NFL wanted but even 4 games seems a bit harsh for something that was only "probable" on his part.

Colts getting nothing for having their own balls deflated also seems dumb. Bunch of teams ended up getting busted or in trouble for deflating balls last season and nothing happened to them.

Unless you believe there's a big conspiracy behind it all, I think it's pretty safe to say Brady knew what was going on and even had a hand in it. Not sure why everyone is so appalled. Taking out the Ray Rice comparison of course. Just looking at this situation on its own, I can't see how this is so shocking.

There is pretty strong evidence in the Wells Report based on the numerous texts collected from the staffers. The same staffers who almost certainly knew they would be losing their jobs by turning the texts in.

Brady was not the one shooting the balls but it seems clear he was telling them what to do and going along with it. Also the Pats will definitely appeal and they MIGHT manager to get the punishments lessened to a degree, but not totally dropped.

The CBA is written in such a way that the commissioner basically has unilateral control to do whatever he wants. It will be incredibly difficult to get everything dropped. The only reason Rice's indefinite suspension was dropped was because they had already slapped him with the retardedly small 2 game suspension and they tried to basically undo it and re-suspend him for a longer period of time.

Thought 3 games would be fair but four works. Comparing this to the Rice suspension doesn't make any since. Rice had a problem off the field and Brady cheated in a game he didn't need to. The NFL has had a bad rep the last couple of years but I think they got this one right. They couldnt let Brady off after screwing with the integrity of the game, so the made an example out off him.
