I'm not really buying the Brock Lesnar character, that interview did nothing for me other than make me roll my eyes.

For all my earlier snide remarks, Strowman surprised and impressed me.
Hardly a classic, but for two big guys going at it that wasn't half bad at all. |

I'm honestly quite grateful they didn't try to re-create the ring implosion from Lesnar v. Show for the old WWE Championship on SD! c.2003. It was a great moment that doesn't need to be recreated, and I'll never forget Tazz shouting "HOLY SHIT! WHAT THE HELL?" in one of the rare calls where he actually perfectly captured the emotion of a big moment.

• The opening vignette was really good.
• I think that was the first time I've heard everyone boo Owens. There was not a single cheer and all it took was Chris Jericho. Also, Owens needs to start going to a tailor for his suits. The length of his trousers were "crazy short" as the kids say. • Scrappy-Doo getting his head kicked off was delicious. He really should stick to mic work though as he's still quite bad in the ring. • After seeing how bad the Tag Team Champions have been looking recently, I'm sure they'll drop the titles at Fastlane. • I just knew they were going down the "Russian Hackers" route when I saw Lana and Kofi with tablets. • I skipped the contract signing due to not having any interest in both men whatsoever. • Nia Jax finally showing interest in the Women's Championship might actually make the division on Raw interesting. • I skipped most of Bayley's promo until Stephanie came out. Bayley is quite bad on the mic and a bit boring too. She's actually not as bad on the mic as Sasha is though, who is slightly worse. Sasha should really stay away from microphones, as she and also Bayley sound like little girls who are reading their essays. • I also skipped Sasha vs Charlotte #4316 along with Zayn vs Owens #3312. • The main event was fun. I didn't expect anything fantastic but it was just fun. • Overall Raw was it's usual self. |

Stephanie is in fact the prime offender. There is nothing authentic about her on the mic.

I agree with Nia Jax but I'm not really focusing too much on her mic skills at the moment as she's only been wrestling for around two years, whereas Bayley has been going for nine year and Sasha for seven and both have been champions.
With wrestling as long as they have, you'd expect them to be a bit decent on the mic by now. Nia still has the potential to get better over time. |

Also simply something which only improves with a lot of tv time like with Charlotte in regards to the Women's division. |

They have much longer to learn their lines in NXT and get more rehearsal time with producers / agents. Doubt much time or effort is spent on writing promos for Bayley / Sasha / 90% of the main roster.
Steph, on the other hand, likely gets a lot of production on her stuff and she is still the worst character on the show. |

I had Raw on with sound at the bar I work at, and everyone was freaking out (in a good way) during Big Show/Strowman. That was the shit. I thought this whole Raw was very good, and some of you may enjoy it more if you didn't take it so seriously.

Stephanie McMahon strikes me as completely disinterested in the product and has for a few years now. I'm really not sure she even WANTS to be an on-screen character at this point, she's just there because Vince thinks a McMahon always has to be around.

Steph has never been that great tbh. I mean obviously she's had her moments... bound to happen when you have literally a zillion hours of screen time but her overall body of work is terrible. Her on screen character (vs whatever the hell she does behind the scenes which could be amazing for all I know) has done more to hurt the product than help.

For people who say that she is good on the mic: When was the last time she got anybody over? She also marks a drop in creative. She took over the head writer position in November 2000. Who knows how long Chris Kreski would have had his mind in the business, or when exactly his health became a personal issue for him, but Stephanie running creative seems to be a major factor in the WWF's downward trend.

Vince McMahon would always show ass -- as the expression goes. When you go back to the Attitude era and re-watch, that is something that really stands out. We think of Vince as this giant egomaniac, but he took that ego and put it into how great he was going to make every segment he was in. The character did get overbearing and too much at times, but go back and watch him take that spill off the apron at Judgment Day 2000. Watch him get sent to the back like a disciplined dog by Triple H.
Stephanie McMahon is basically impervious to criticism from babyfaces or heels. Not even the women who could, in theory, beat her up, bow their heads when she tells them off. Is it building to something? It's been going on since 2013 now without anyone getting any measure of comeuppance over her. And before you say that if it ever does happen that the payoff will be good, keep in mind that fewer and fewer people are watching because they just do not care. |

I can't remember the last Stephanie promo that *mattered*. The last one people made a big deal out of was her response to Shane, but even that was a shit-show designed to bury Shane and talk about what an ambassador for women she is and how he hates them. Way to babyface him, Steph.

It wasn't amazing tbh
The only time Steph "got what was coming to her" post 2013 was when vickie pushed her in the pudding and then disapearred the next week. Other than that she emasculates people for no reason. the biggest example of this is when she did it to Lana/Rusev; while in the same promo (or promo before) she was begging them for help. Daniel Bryan or Roman Reigns hit her at Wrestlemania I think......... that was a sort of comeuppance.....
And there was that one week where The Authority had to disband after Survivor Series..... that was a sort of comeuppance....... |

I wouldn't mind her "emasculating" everyone if she was actually a good promo. But she really isn't.

I would, if you are writing the book you shouldn't be on screen if it is hindering the product, her being infallible is a hindrance.

Would be alright if someone "pushed back" (doesn't need to physical, can be verbal), but most of the time when Steph gets all worked up and slaps someone they just stand there in disbelief and smile like "I can't believe she just did that", which isn't really a good way of "standing up to her" and using the crowd's hate for her to garner support for yourself.......
