Saturn, due to his size, had more upward potential but never really achieved it.
I loved his run in WCW though. Had killed matches week after week and managed to stand out in a really dense division. WIth that said Malenko is a master wrestler and can craft some great stories with holds. He's just a cut above. |

So hard. But had to go Malenko. If Saturn did what he was capable of god knows how this conversation would go. But Malenko really made his mark in the cruiser division.

Malenko, mostly due to always liking him as a kid, especially when he was in the Four Horsemen and teaming with Benoit.
Saturn was great in WCW though. Had some killer matches when he was teaming with Raven. |

Saturn was the more interesting character, but Malenko was a more skilled worker in the ring. He mixed technical mastery into the cruiserweight division at a time when it was all about doing flips and high spots every match.

Perry Saturn. Malenko was a giant bore. Prototypical vanilla midget.

Saturn wasn't exactly a great promo. He looked different but he was kind of bland beyond the look.

His stuff with Moppy was 10x better and more entertaining than any Dean Malenko match ever.

Malenko, because I still laugh every time I think of the name "Stinko Malenko". Jericho won this one for him.

Perry Saturn. He was a more entertaining character and in-ring he pulled off some crazy suplexes and slams from time to time. Dean was a master technical worker but he was fairly bland as a character and unfortunately I cant let Stinko Malenko get him past one of my favorite underrated performers ever.

Saturn's Eliminator run was fucking incredible. I remember seeing he and Kronus for the first time at Barely Legal doing shit I've never seen before.

I always knew Saturn as the suplex machine, not Taz. Obviously until Taz hit WWF in 2000

Yeah, The Eliminators were tight, but no one ever called them Stinko.

Saturn did things as an Eliminator that have not been matched.

I prefer Malenko, but Saturn got a mop ridiculously over, whereas Malenko was never more than a midcard "good hand" at best. Saturn gets my vote.

Malenko.
Saturn was better in terms of character based on his WWE run but Malenko was better in terms of in-rings skills and overall as a wrestler. Saturn did have a really cool submission finisher with the Rings of Saturn. |

I don't know if Saturn even got the mop over, I think the crowd just decided to get behind something that was clearly supposed to be a stupid joke. Kind of how people are behind Ellsworth now.

Very evenly matched battle here, I think..... having a hard time deciding...... both solid in the ring.....
I'm going to just go with my gut and go with Dean Malenko. Had this been WCW/nWo Revenge for the N64, I definitely would have picked Perry Saturn, though, because I loved doing the Rings of Saturn...... |
