Lester Bagley, The Vice President of Public Affairs for the Minnesota Vikings, recently spoke about the new $1 billion US Bank Stadium being built for the Vikings.

During the video, which you can watch at this link, Bagley had the following to say:

“Before the building is even open, we have already secured the Super Bowl in 2018, the NCAA basketball Final Four in 2019. We are a finalist and seem to be in a very good position to secure the college football playoffs, the BCS Championship game and you know we’ve got WrestleMania coming.”
Minnesota currently rumored to get a Mania as early as 2017. http://www.wrestlezone.com/news/6104...ania-minnesota

great article from CBS Sports on WWF in 1985

Lanny Poffo, Paul Orndorff, Don Muraco, George Steele, Wendi Richter, Tito Santana & more reflect on the year 1985 in WWF.

Also MTV VJ Alan Hunter and Cyndi Lauper discuss that amazing year as well.

Given that Brooklyn’s gate is probably going to be around $700,000, which is amazing when you think about it, you’d think that would change. Owens is not on a developmental deal so he’d probably be paid like the main event of a big grossing house show, and Balor should have a different deal than everyone else because he was an established star in a major league promotion. But for people like Banks and Bayley, particularly because the internal push claims this show is a double main event, a main event payoff on that kind of house would be huge compared to what the women are currently earning and I can’t come up with any kind of logical reason all the talent appearing on a show like that shouldn’t get comparable payoffs to the main roster talent on a sold out major market show. Banks may be on a main roster deal so it could be different. I’m told the internal reasoning is that NXT and developmental are overall big money losers, as developmental has to be considered to be, they are on guaranteed money contracts and overall the shows are losing money without paying a percentage to talent. NXT talent working in Florida have no road expenses and the feeling is they are being paid to learn. However, when NXT talent is brought to WWE road shows, they are paid for those shows and also have their road expenses covered, which isn’t the case for the contracted WWE talent.

New Japan gave them the impression that Liger working NXT was a combination of Liger wanting to work one match with WWE, since he never has, and he’s 50 years old, and doing a personal favor for William Regal. Liger did an interview this past week with the New Japan web site and said what happened was that he was in Northern California for the ROH show two nights before WrestleMania and found out that “Devi-chan,” (Fergal Devitt/Finn Balor) was wrestling the same night nearby. He said he wanted to see the show so someone contacted Matt Bloom, who he knows, and Bloom got him a ticket to the show. So Liger was in the audience at the NXT show in San Jose late in disguise (his disguise is that he was just a 50-year-old Japanese guy that nobody recognized) and he saw the Balor vs. Neville main event and talked with Balor after the match. Several weeks later, Balor, Bloom and Regal called New Japan and asked for Liger’s e-mail address. That’s interesting because that sounds like they were trying to avoid going through the promotion and contacting him directly. But they were told Liger doesn’t use a computer and that they would have to go through Tiger Hattori (who handles a lot of New Japan’s business in English speaking countries). They asked Hattori if Liger could work the NXT show as a one-time only deal and Hattori said Liger would do it if New Japan gave him permission. He noted Regal was a long-time friend. Liger said that he didn’t know Tyler Breeze, but said he must be really good if he learned his basics from Storm. The key of this is that New Japan absolutely was involved in the booking and it was not Liger on his own working without it going through the company.

I've changed my mind. I'm now fairly certain Triple H is going to cost Cena the match at SummerSlam (or they do something wacky, like Cena gets the match moved up to the opener, wins the title, then they do a rematch later), and that they run Triple H vs. Cena over the fall months. This allows Seth Rollins to be an ungrateful prick, work with Kane, then move on to Triple H.

If Kane returns at SummerSlam (and I hope they hold him off), I can see him being the reason that both Taker and Lesnar are out for a while. A Tombstone to both with either a new outfit or his original classic one could build him up pretty easily for a match against Rollins.

Also, I'm thinking more and more I agree that Owens should have won the US Title at Battleground and be carrying it into his match with Cesaro.

I've been thinking if Cena wins he has an open challenge on Raw for 2 guys that Cesaro and Owens answer and the winner gets the US title.

LOL, Greg Valentine went on a podcast rant about "girl wrestling", and ripped into females in the business by saying he'd fire them all and send them to the strip club, because they take away from men trying to support their family. They all have bad matches, don't draw and should be in the kitchen cooking all pregnant and barefoot. He also extended this to boxing and MMA.

In May, NJPW talent will again come back to North America to do their usual dates in Philly and Toronto, but they will add more towns, and will bring more & different wrestlers from NJPW in 2016 than in past years.

It is also expected that both sides will send more talent back and forth and not just those that have gone in the past.

When WWE superstar — and former UFC heavyweight champion — Brock Lesnar was asked what he thought about his former boss’ comments on ESPN’s “SportsCenter” Tuesday, he had an straightforward answer.

“Of course, Dana, it’s fake, all right? Everybody knows that,” Lesnar said on ESPN. “But it’s still the same."

“You’re promoting the same thing we’re promoting. Dana White is promoting fights, we’re promoting fights. It just so happens we get a little more longevity out of our fight and out of our fighters because of the circumstances. It’s a staged arena. Everyone knows that.”

Lesnar did point out that WWE CEO Vince McMahon was the better businessman when it came to selling his product.

“The business model is the same. It’s identical,” Lesnar said. “And I think Vince McMahon is better at it than Dana, and that might rub Dana the wrong way.”

The one match that he wants is a match with Brock Lesnar. But WWE may not allowed it to happen because he may be legitimately killed.

It's even funnier when you consider how Hogan just had his entire life destroyed for making a racist remark yet Valentine will likely not even be mentioned anywhere because he's "small potatoes"... Oh, wait, that's not funny that's just sad.

oh okay. I disagree simply because it did nothing for Hunter, and Booker going over would have done wonders for him, but I hear you. The build to the match was done wonderfully to set up Booker going over. The idea of him conquering his past demons, overcoming adversity, and even Hunters subtle racism in his promos....when Hunter says "people like you don't beat people like me" and then Hunter pedigrees him, and thats....it....and kinda says he's right, storyline wise. And apparently, if lore is true, the plan was for Booker to go over until the last second.

And as far as "he wasn't ready" I disagree with that as well, but to each his own.

Honestly, as a black guy, when I hear JTG talk, I think a lot of it isn't race, as much as it is him being a bit....delusional. I can tell when something is actually racist. I can also tell when someone is playing the race card just to exonnerate any accountability on their part.

I wasn't there, obviously, but a lot of the things he says, and examples he gives of racism, just don't scream racism to me.
