I lost him somewhere Shadow. Not asking where to find him originally unless he travels there in case of emergency.

Hey, STD, did you lose him while in combat, walking around, telling him to stay in one place, or did you lose him after sending him home?

I don't remember. I bought a house at Fenway Park hoping I lost him when I tagged him out for Piper. Haven't checked if he came back there yet. Fallout New Vegas had a Companion Markers if you lost them.

Check all of your settlements then. Do a full perimeter check of them, especially the Red Rocket Station. I once sent him home and he was stuck on the hill behind the Red Rocket just staring at the ground.

So I sent the drunk guy from DC to Sanctuary and tried to assign him as a shopkeeper. Apparently he's bugged and just stands around not moving at all. You can select to trade things with him though and he has all the inventory of a shopkeeper. Weird.

Personally think the naming convention is a little wonky, though. Not so much in the item being named for all the mods you have on it, but if YOU exceed like 20 characters including spaces it stops typing. The game can invent names like 3 times as long as the one you're allowed to conjure up.

You might have dismissed him, like you said, but clicked on a place to send him without seeing where that was. I've had that come up a couple of times (with a different companion), only to see them chilling in Hangman Alley which is cool, because the town footprint at the time was pretty small. Black guy in a tri-cornered hat is easy to spot in a small village of 4 white NPCs. Seems to be a small hit-or-miss dialogue bug, and I hope that's what happened as opposed to you making him wait somewhere. But even if you did that, (speculation, ahoy) and given you picked up another follower, he would likely default return to the truck stop, so I'd build the first of the doghouses there. On the subject of markers: yeah, this game could do with more of them. It shows, for example, the last power armor you got in, but you have to remember where you parked the rest yourself. Local maps no longer show entrances or landmarks, even with the place previously visited on the world map. I don't like not being able to at least see enemies when they're non hostile. Red dots show up, on the HUD compass, but disappear when they quit looking for you. On the subject of friends: Strong is weird to befriend. I keep doing shit he doesn't like (which seems to be just about everything), but suddenly he tells me he respects me? Is he Bizzaro? |

They're all at Sanctuary Hills. I'm just making the comparison that in all of Skyrim, I only remember encountering 2-3 companions, even though there's more out there. In New Vegas you'd either get E-DE with the right skills, or no-one until Boone. I got everyone else but it took a lot of looking. The first one in Fallout 3 I can't even remember. In a fraction of the time I've ended up with 8 people in Fallout 4, and no clear quest progression with a lot of them.

In terms of sales, ended up having the 3rd biggest launch in the UK for this year and largest in series history. A bit more than doubled what New Vegas did for its launch in the region. http://www.destructoid.com/fallout-4...r-321092.phtml Last edited by Emperor Smeat; 11-16-2015 at 06:26 PM. Reason: Tweaked how big of a launch it was. For the actual percentage check the post below or the link. Either way it was a lot |

lol what the hell
Was a Brotherhood Knight wandering around, and I pickpocketed her Fusion Core out of her Power Armor. For whatever reason that caused her to exit her armor (not hostile to me or anything) so I just kind of.. stole it? From under her nose. The AI seems strange in this. |

This whole thing about supply lines sure could have used more clarification. It would also help settlement matters if you could a) rename "unimportant" settlers (apparently, some unnamed scrubs are actually quest important nobodies that can't be sent away to other settlements for any reason) and b) see what an NPC is assigned to do with some sort of text drop of their current assignment (sort of like a Provisioner, but instead of the "name" change, just add it in addition) instead of highlighting what they're associated with.
If i have someone farming, and someone else shows up that is mostly doing nothing, I want to assign that person to something else. Instead, I usually grab the busy person who isn't currently standing by their assignment, so I can't see what they were doing, and my defense or food or whatever drops, then I have to figure out a fix. It helps that I can dress them how I want, so I sort-of dress code people, and newcomers are a bit easier to distinguish and assignments are easier to guess. |

I've been doing it so FUCKING WRONG!
Been putting points just into "agility, intelligence, etc" instead of the perks down the trees. I thought you had to "max out" the top row before moving down a tier, etc. Good thing, I have maxed out perception and almost agility/strength so I can take a lot of skills in each tree. I find revolvers to be my favorite "type" of gun in the game so far. So fucking loud and powerful. Found a .45 handgun and modded it into a rifle. Knocks mofo's back SO HARD. Going to head back to Vault 111 since I have Cait, and get the god damn Cryolator. |

It is interesting to note that the components of the armor, even in my settlement, show up red as they are stolen, but nothing really changes when I use it at all so whatever. It's nice to have two sets of armor so I can have my companion in one as well when I suit up. |

On the plus side, there's no level cap so you could feasibly still get pretty much every perk you want, it'll just take you a few more levels to do so now that you're "behind" |

level 32, have a kickin pad at Sanctuary and a crapload of other settlements. Currently putting over The Castle to beef up their defenses.
definitely love the save feature so I can experiment and see what outcomes my actions have |

I still have Sanctuary as my "home base" but Starlight Drive-In seems to be my most successful settlement so far. I've gone back to mainly questing now, gonna toy with settlements more later on.
I've also taken to just stashing all weapons/armor instead of scrapping. Wasn't aware of the Scrapper perk but I'm pumping points into it now then I'll scrap a bunch of jobber guns and have all of the screws |

Fucking screws.....
BTW - is there an easy way to scrap "junk"? As of now, I stash it, but when I want to scrap it, I take it all from the workbench, and "drop" it, then go into build mode and break them down en masse. Seems like I am doing that wrong too....... I know the guns & armor break down at their respective tables or w/e. |

For junk, as long as it's in your workbench the items will automatically be broken down into their components when you need them for anything you're building

Oh?
I'll have to check that tonight then. Brought back a shit ton of stuff and stashed it to break down later because I didn't feel like it at the time. Still had to break it down. |

Oh yeah, all those tin cans and scissors and duct tape and shit you can stash in the work bench and that's that. If you're in the "Transfer" part of the workbench there's an option to "Store all junk" (T is the default key on PC, surely there's a button on console as well). So any of that crap that's inside your workbench will contribute to your components total when you're in Build mode. You'll notice when you create something it will be all like "Used Oil Can removed" in the top left, as the game breaks down the junk for its components.
Word of warning with the "store all junk" command though; it stores ALL your junk, in the "Junk" header of your inventory. Before I do that I tend to put my valuable stuff (Pre-War Money, Gold Watches, etc) in a separate container so I can sell to vendors if I'm low on caps. Otherwise, Pre-War Money gets broken down into Cloth. As baller as the prospect of making a bunch of dirty beds out of $100 bills is, it can be a pretty sizeable loss of potential caps if you're careless |

Codsworth is a bore and party pooper, rolling with Deacon and sometimes Hancock works for me, but I'm going to beef up Lone Wanderer and go it alone soon once I have that special weapon I trust my life with.
Is holding onto the gold worth it? Figured they are better suited for settlement parts than anything. Once you get your stores up and running at settlements your workshop will have caps waiting for you |

My character liberated a tiny outpost and Brahmin took up the majority of the post so my guy lost it and started punching all the Brahs and settlers, needless to say it was a bloodbath

I don't know if it's worth it to stash gold watches etc, but I have them in a separate container Justin_Case I run low on caps. I haven't come across a scenario where I've been short on components yet so hopefully I can continue doing that
At the utter least I recommend storing your Pre-War Money in a non-workbench location... fucking beds use up your cloth like crazy |

So there I was, building a sleep shack for my homies in Overland Station, that dark and sadistic place with a garden and train tracks, when one of the settlers was standing in one of the plots where I was adding onto the shack(previously in the day I threw up a mini shack and fit 8 beds in there) and wouldn't budge. This pissed me off so bad that I put strobe lights in the shack and after work today I'm going to put a damn spotlight in there so they get no sleep. I'm tired of settlers being ungrateful little miscreants. I fart in their general direction |

Think I've got a bug that stops me from progressing. One of my companions has gone missing and I haven't yet got to the point where you can team up, so I can't send them anywhere. He needs to be outside my new quarters somewhere to advance the quest but he won't show up.
EDIT: Went back to where I had the mission with him and he was still shooting raiders, but talked to me like he was casually standing outside my room. |
