What do you do when you can't stick with a game?

I've got a problem, one that has haunted me through all my days. Perhaps its a personal flaw, deep than just smashing buttons and plotting creative escapes and puzzle solving. But I can't stick to one game at a time. I have a new Xbox One X, about 3 monhts old. And I've got over 20 games. Most of them free or really cheap but still, it's a lot. Good games too... Witcher 3, Doom, MGSV, Sunset Overdrive, Metro 2033 Redux and Metro Last Light, UFC EA Sports 2, Path of Exhile, The War of Mine: The little Ones, Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide (an awesome game if it had a following, nobody is ever on to play), The Evil Within, Saints Row: Gat out of Hell, The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing, Odd World: New 'n Tasty, Injustice: Gods Among Us, Marlow Briggs, Deus Ex : Mankind Divided, Assasians Creed Black Flag, The Swapper and finally Back To the Future.

So some of these came from the guy I bought the X-Box from, he has just bought it and still never played it so he sold it for $250, probably got it as a gift. Some of the games are free because I got Gamepass for a dollar for a month, so I guess I should play those first but, I'll reup for the 10 bucks, thats not a bad deal when you like to download games like I do. My favorite so far is MGSV and Metro. Metro is really hard and they saved me in an unwinnable spot so I have to go to a previous save and have dreaded that so I haven't touched it in a few days. Some I haven't really played only surveyed like Marlow Briggs, Deus Ex, The Swapper, Odd World and Saints Row.

Anyway do you guys have ways you discipline yourself so you don't buy too many games and over saturate your experience?

Also, I didn't really play games for a long time, like 6 or 7 years. And haven't had the most up to date console in over 10 years. So a lot of games and series are new to me, like Witcher, Saints Row etc... Which is cool because I have a huge cheap library of older games that still look amazing because games made 7 years ago still looked great.

For me, you have to pace yourself and pick your titles.

In the past, I've gone after most of the blockbuster games that always came out. The Assassins' Creeds, the Call of Duties for the yearlies, the other "big games" that would come out that year.

The problem you got is a lot of games in a 3 month span.

If I were you, I'd play the games you know you're going to get the 1000 Gamerscore for, and trade in the rest and reserve some games you know you're gonna want to play and/or you're friends will be playing.

And remember, nothing wrong with having a game backlog. We all got one.

Have similar problems as well whenever I buy multiple games.

Been better at handling this in recent years by getting a game I know I want to play the most or finish and being comfortable with playing the rest at a much later date. Also been making fewer bulk purchases to help mitigate this problem even more.

Core games that demand extended play is probably not for you. Stick to casual.

It's definitely a personality thing, I play mainly RPGs and rarely have trouble sticking with a game. I've finished games I absolutely hated (Assassins Creed the first, though by sticking it out I've been pretty much put off the series completely and never returned) but there's the odd game I've quit halfway. Metro Last Light I stopped playing because I was having zero fun and I ran out of respirators or something and I needed to restart because there was no way to get through the area I was stuck in. Fuck that game. I've quit two replays of FFXII because I got a PS3 and then a PS4 while I was still playing, but recently finished the HD re-release even though I picked up Persona 5 half way in and really, REALLY wanted to play it.

Usually have a huge backlog but take it one major game at a time, and often have a more casual, less time intensive game going (usually handheld) if I need a break from it.

My friends all finish like 1 in 10 games they start, but even that might an overestimation.

If stuck usually switch to a free game like Star Trek online. Mostly have been playing that until something worth buying comes out.

It is really tough to discipline yourself when you have so many games with you. I too faced a similar situation. Last year, my brother xbox live gold 12 monate kaufen for me. At that time, I was pretty much excited to download all the new games and play them. But then as time flew, I got myself entangled in these games, some of which, I haven't played once. After which, I did prioritize the games and traded some for money and kept only those games which I play.

I've actually have ran into this problem, My problem was buying games in bulk, But also because I have other hobbies, that sometimes over saturate me with too much to do that I generally lose interest, or usually at the first sign that things aren't running as smoothly as I would expect.

I dont have a lot of time to play games so stick to just a few and play them when i can. Anything i have and dont play i sell on ebay while they still have some value. If i want to try later i can pick up cheaper second hand.
