WrestleMania 35 -- Down to Philly and NYC -- possibly announced this week!
So WrestleMania 35 is expected to be announced next week in either Philly or NYC. Either way, it will be an outdoor stadium. This is per multiple rumors on Twitter, Reddit and the Wrestling Observer forum.
Interestingly enough, I've seen several mentions of it being in Queens at Citi Field, which would be the first time a baseball stadium held Mania since WM 19 I believe. For those based in NYC -- Would Citi Field be closer to the Barclays Center than Met Life? |

Also Citi Field looks awesome and I can imagine the WM set looking awesome there.

Citi Field has held wresting shows before, but the capacity doesn't seem like it'd be on par with recent Mania venues.

That makes sense. I'd probably go. I've never been to Philly, and I can only imagine the week's events would be insane.

If they do have it at Citi, I want Takeover, Raw, and SmackDown at the Arthur Ashe Stadium next door. No big set. Would have a real old-school feel to it.

I want an official meet up thing so I don't end up getting ignored by Xero again. Everyone can come watch me play BJ at Sugar Hoyse the last time I was there I won $2000.

I went to ROH/NJPW War of the Worlds and NXT in Philly 3 years ago. Guaranteed somebody will run shows at the old ECW Arena. (Wrestlecon?)

I have thought Arthur Ashe would be a perfect WWE setting for a while too -- I think they should use more tennis stadiums -- Set up/Views are pretty perfect for WWE if they peel back on the giant set.

If I had to guess, WWE probably ends up picking NYC over Philly.
Last time WWE held a Mania in the NY/NJ area, it was one of their biggest successes ever and could see that be a huge influence on their decision. Also the historic ties NYC has with the WWE which could be another big factor swaying their decision. |

I don't think they would do Citizens Bank Park. Capacity is ~44,000 and they like to run in bigger stadiums. Lincoln Financial Field can accommodate almost 70,000.

Yeah, WWE will probably choose something that fits about 70,000.

When you add 10-12k of seats on the field that's not far off from some past WM attendance figures (the actual ones, not the exaggerated ones where WWE adds 10-20k people). WMXXX - 59k WM 31 - 57K |

Don't like the risk of Northeast weather. Jersey or Philly. I'd pick Jersey. MSG could have NXT or the Hall of Fame.

I'm down with either one, but I'm pulling for Philly.
Got an uncle who lives outside the city and I can crash at his place and hopefully pull off the marathon weekend. Save myself a lot of cash on a flight and hotel. Vince better start praying to the weather gods now. He timed it just right when it was at MetLife not to long ago. |

We might find out tonight!
Randomly thinking too -- what big WM match can the E come up with for Reigns next year after the eventual Lesnar feud? Joe? Orton? Corbin? Heel Dean? Heel Balor? Not sure any of those 'scream' WrestleMania. |

Probably Braun.
He's already Reigns' top rival and a match at Mania would cement them as the mega feud for the new era. |

CM Punk, Brock Lesnar III, Bobby Lashley, John Cena, Randy Orton, Shield Triple Threat, AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, etc. He won't necessarily close the show every year.
