Funk, I feel like he was much more well rounded as a personality, from what I have seen and was capable of more variation as a performer (match type, opponent etc...)

Funk is going to get my vote over anybody because he's the greatest of all time, but I LOVE Backlund. People shit on him, but he was tremendous. Both are in my top 5.

After some thought I went with Funk. Like Backlund but Funk had more memorable stuff I think.

Haven't seen much of their heydays, but Bob Backlund's feud/match with Bret Hart was great.
So if I had to choose based on what I have seen of each guy, I'd choose Backlund. I'm gonna abstain from voting for right now though, due to the "unfairness" of me not having a "good picture" of each dude's career/heydays. May vote later if I need to. |

Don't really know a lot about either guy's career, but I've met Bob Backlund once or twice and he seemed like a nice enough guy and funny and cool too, so I'm throwing a sympathy vote his way.

Sympathy vote for Backlund. He was man enough to try to get revenge for Y2J after the travesty last round.
Plus Backlund just seems like the happiest, nicest guy ever. |

Funk for sure. I didn't get the appeal of backlund back in the day and he was a midget in the land of Giants and muscle bound dummies.
Later on, when he came back as a left mad man I fell in love with him. Funk had me from day 1. |

Funk.
I liked Backlund as Mr. Backlund, but he was hardly memorable to me. Funk is one of my most memorable stars. |

Terry Funk is one of the greatest all-round performers in the history of the industry. Bob Backlund is not everybody's cup of tea, but I can understand the appeal. He did a few things VERY well. But he still feels shoe-horned into that era as an unnecessary change from Billy Graham, if just because of that promise that Vince, Sr. made. That was the vision from the start, but I can't help but feel that Graham would have been better. Backlund had a bit of a limit on what he could achieve. Funk, in comparison, had a much broader career. He was never the guy in the WWF, but it all just adds up for him.

Funk U!
Had to go with Terry Funk. I'm more familiar with his ECW career and his brief feud with Hulk Hogan in 85'. Plus the way he throws those chairs in the ring and put himself through a table at November to Remember 1998. |

I think the people who voted Jericho over Terry Funk must have thought it was Jericho Vs. Terry Brunk. It's a common mistake.

Dug up a few old matches to try to see both guys in their prime. Gotta go Funk.

The best Backlund match to look up would be his 1980 Texas Death Match against Ken Patera.
It's ridiculous to say this about a guy who held the belt for 6 years, but as time passes, Backlund has become very under-rated. The problems is, Backlund is a pretty humble guy, meanwhile you have Graham and Larry bashing him constantly. Perception is that Backlund sucked, which is crazy. |

Backlund although mainly for being a bit more familiar with his work than Funk's.
Then again to be fair, only really saw Backland when he made his return to the WWE and not during his prime era. Most of Funk's stuff I saw or remeber was the brief time he was in the WWE during the Attitude Era and some ECW clips/matches. |

Funk, because I'm more familiar with his work. Only thing I know about Backlund is he looks like a pedo uncle or something.
