Owen is a better worker but lacked the "it" factor. Piper wins every time.

Piper post 1986 sucked ass except for the Bret Hart feud in 92, but he was golden before then. His 1984 heel stuff is so friggen amazing.
Tough one, but Piper in a close match. Piper is an icon. Owen isn't. |

Agree with all of this, but figured you would make this exact post so didn't bother saying it.

yeah Piper is a legend. one of those rare guys that was bigger then wrestling to me. And even 10 years after 1986 you could tell people still gave a damn as I believe Starrcade 96 and Havoc 97 had two of the biggest buyrates of the 96/97 nWo era.
anyway, pretty easy call for me here |

It's really hard to make a case for Owen being objectively better, and there's no shame in that.

I think Owen was a bit of a better worker, but Piper was good and had better psychology, and could get wicked heat. I went with Piper. I can't even factor in home country, seeing as they're both Canadian.

I think poeple confuse "more technical" with "better worker"

Piper. The best damn WWE worker (IMO) to never win the big one. I also really enjoyed his work for a brief time on SD! c.2003 with the awesome Sean O'Haire. It's really depressing to think they are both gone...played so well off each other as mentor/pupil.

As always, to me the test is who you would rather have under your employ. The answer is obviously Piper if you like money.

Gotta go with Owen. To be honest, Piper was a bit "before my time". I got into wrestling in 1992, but most of what I remember of Piper, other than watching old matches on DVD's etc, is his WCW run.

Gotta go with Owen. I got into wrestling in the 90s and Piper's stuff did nothing for me then. I just found him annoying, while Owen's stuff was cool.
