Thinking Differently 11 - SummerSlam Edition
We're back! And better than ever? That remains to be seen.
Anyway, we're gonna start with a SummerSlam edition. I know I've sprinkled one or two SummerSlam questions into previous surveys before, but figured I'd go full bore with it since the build has started. (also, because it's not gonna kill me/take me a million hours to research the answers and burn me back out quickly ) Form is located here: https://goo.gl/forms/8yrB6ihtKFIuLYnl1 RULES: -Answer all of the questions in the attached form -Don't look shit up -The object of the game is to give correct answers that you think the fewest number of respondents will give -Incorrect answers will receive a point total the equivalent of the highest-guessed answer for that question -Lowest score wins -Have fun |

Should I answer this while tired or sleep on it?

Lol I remember like 2 or 3 Summer Slams so the majority of my answers are from the same show.

I know I got a few wrong. Summerslams just are not real memorable.

I hope I remember stuff accurately. I've kind of been intrigued by the history of SummerSlam because it doesn't get the same scrutiny as a WrestleMania but has its own little records and such. I'm hoping that one of my answers is a really surprisingly little bit of trivia.

Totally guessed on like 90% of these answers. Way too specific for to really remember anything with my bad memory.

For some reason I forget most of the undercard matches from when I was a kid so that's where someone is going to win. After I submitted my answers(AFTER) I looked up those matches and thought holy crap how could I forget about them!

Savio was my favorite mid-card jobber. Gives me PTSD now being in the audience for KOTR 95. Like really, Savio vs Mabel? I liked him as a jobber, not in a KOTR finals match. It's like taking Heath Slater and putting him in the finals of KOTR vs Baron Corbin.

For some reason I kept focusing on 1995 because it was so terrible, it stuck out more to me than 96 or 94(besides the main event.) 95 did have one great match but the rest was garbage.

I botched that one too. I was watching a random Summerslam last week, and reading about it (before this thread) and let my memory of the reading confuse me. I went back and checked after because I had a feeling I went with the dark match I read about. Sadly, I was right, but learned something I never knew, that Savio Vega was Kwang lol.

Parents got me a Summerslam boxset for my birthday back in the day and they used to play on repeat in my room all summer, so I think I did real good....

Hartford was a Wrestlemania >
And I thought Cage match went on last in '94. Though it is funny that, in the last 2 match that year it was two person with the same name facing each other: Hart vs. Hart and Undertaker vs. Undertaker. |

Damn I got hit hard... was thinking that Jarrett lost the European Championship to X-Pac at Summerslam 98 but it was just hair vs hair... what's funny is I also used X-Pac as my pick for "Won a Championship" but still got it right because he won the WCW Cruiserweight title. Summerslam 95 was the first wrestling VHS I ever owned so it's the most memorable to me, as well as Summerslam 96 is the first PPV I ever purchased at my house so I remember everything.

Tana you certainly are awesome today, you are the GRAND CHAMPION. Somehow even after throwing in the towel on the Mean Gene question, you still won with 2 points to spare. That is awesome. However you have something left to prove in the next round, can you make it two in a row? Are you truly Awesome ... Tana? Are you?
Also did anyone actually say "Is that 200 an hour?" Would you have counted that? I knew when answering that I was likely wrong, I couldn't remember, but I also can't tell if anyone said the whole quote for their answer. |
