Wait, Vito. I'm confused. Torres has a 3.20 era and a 120 era+. He's seemingly an at least decent option in terms of run prevention. His FIP is fucking brutal but still, I don't get why you'd want him gone so badly.

A Victoria's Secret model is in the White Sox booth to pimp some new MLB clothing line for women.
1) Nothing like trying to sell shirts and jerseys to women by having the person selling it be a 23 year old size 0. 2) Thank God they had Steve Stone talk to her exclusively and left Hawk on the sidelines for that interview. Ron Santo "interviewing" Denise Richards awhile back was brutal. |

Brandon Morrow probably needs season ending shoulder surgery. Not surprising though it sucks since he was their best starter before getting hurt.

Twins put up 3 in the first and the Jays go and put up 2 in the second off a Donaldson Home Run and 4 in the second off a Bautista Bomb grand slam in the second.
I love this team. |

Except for Drew Hutchison. Good God. Encarnacion with a three run jack! Three Jays now have 20 or more home runs.

Mets took a 8-0 lead into the 9th against the hapless Marlins and are about to blow it.
Losing this would pretty much kill any hope I've built over the last week. At the end of the day, they're still the Mets. |

And somehow, they hang on. Mother of fuck. WFAN would have had a field day tomorrow if they had blown it.

O'Flaherty gave up 4 runs in 2/3 of an inning, including 3 hits to lefties. So much for being excited about that acquisition lol.

Wonder what the over/under is on total runs scored during the next Yanks/Jays series.

Lol well Hutchison isn't pitching so that should shave 8 runs off the total. I don't think 50 runs total is out of the question in that series.
That series is going to be ridiculous, especially in that ballpark. |

Red Sox send out Tim Wakefield Jr. AKA Steve Wright last night, goes 8 strong innings, and completely stumps the Yankees.
Solid outing by Severino last night. Too bad the Yankees couldn't hit a lick and get him a win. |

NESN thinks he's slowly getting to Ace status with rotation which also shows how abysmal the starters have been this season overall. |

Talking about Hawkins caused me to look up how many players who debuted in the big leagues in the 90s are still officially active. Tough to determine the official number given that there are still old-ass players who are free agents but haven't formally retired yet.
But it seems likely that it will dwindle down to the single digits by next year given that Hawkins, Hudson, Aramis, and Burnett have already said they are done after 2015. A guy like Nathan probably won't be returning from major surgery at his age. Hunter hasn't ruled out continuing his career into 2016 but returning to the Twins felt like such a "victory lap" type of thing to do. Pierzynski has been shockingly good this year and should easily find work in 2016 if he wants it, but catching at nearly 40 years old isn't exactly something anybody can pull off. Probably easier to figure out who still will be playing next year. A-Rod of course has 2 years left on his deal, and if he stays as good as he's been this year he might stick around another year past that to clinch the HR record. Beltre has another year under contract. Big Papi has heated up in the last month or so and has 2 more option years, hard to imagine Boston not having him back if he wants to keep playing. Colon has said he wants to keep going. Of the group Beltre easily seems like the best bet to keep playing into 2020 assuming his body holds up. He'd only be 41 during 2020, so if he can keep swinging the bat like he has now he could extend his career as a DH if he wanted. Would be pretty awesome to have someone play a 4th decade in the big leagues. Jesse Orosco narrowly outlasted Rickey Henderson in the 70s-to-00s group. Omar Vizquel was the last man standing in the 80s-to-10s. |

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...n_four_decades
There are actually more 4-decade players than I realized, although they're understandably becoming rarer and rarer. Beltre is definitely the 90's best (and possibly only realistic) hope to add another one to the list. @ the 5 decade players. Shame that probably won't ever happen again since 40-man roster spots aren't likely to be used on publicity stunts at this point. Otherwise, Julio Franco almost definitely would have gotten that honor. He still plays in Japan at 56 years old. |

Mike Napoli returning to the Rangers after a trade between them and the Red Sox. Happened right before tonight's Sox-Tigers game.
Rangers get Mike Napoli and cash while Red Sox get a TBA player. |

Scott Podsenick is in the booth with Hawk tonight. Didn't think a sox broadcast could be worse. Pods is just sucking Hawks dick and mumbling. Half an inning spent comparing Hawk to Mickey Mantle.
