BAG GAWD THEY'VE DONE IT!.
Odor makes a good throw its inning over. He knocks out Bautista, Jays knock him and Texas out. |

Donaldson with the hustle play, and Odor poetically eating shit on a double play. Would feel bad for Matt Bush because what a fucking hero, but you're on the wrong team bud.
Unreal. Like Damo said, it's not the best teams who advance, it's the team who is hot with the best fortune. 3 weeks ago, Jays were on the fucking brink. |

My cousin had Texas nailed from the onset even before the wildcard game. Said they were a massively lucky team as proven by their runs for and against stat.

Unlike the Orioles, they're peaking at the right time.
*WARNING: ANALYTICAL BASED COMMENT COMING* I never thought the Rangers were that good. Much like the Orioles, their run differential wasn't very good and my belief is you can't outrun barely outscoring your opponent. Especially when you hit the playoffs. Texas got to beat up on the sorry Angels and Athletics. Toronto beat up on the Rays but every other team in their division was in the hunt. And the Rangers, while deserving because the game ain't won on paper, were not, imo, as good as the other division winners or Toronto. I thought they matched up well with Baltimore, a similarly constructed team. But not Toronto, who yielded a strong rotation and deep as fuck lineup. |

I've never seen the Jays catch all the luck like that before, everything seemed to work in their favour.

haha! Rays were the only team in the East the Jays didn't have a winning record against. Rays served the Jays a steaming pile of shit, and almost cost them a playoff spot. Jays matched up terribly against them.

The Rays always own the Jays. Especially at the Trop. No matter how bad they are. I have nightmare of Joe Kennedy killing the Jays.
And now Kennedy is dead. Serves him right. |

That type of baseball magic can work in the playoffs but only if the rotation is lights out great and not just because of some really great luck going their way. |

Texas has a pretty damned good bullpen. And Darvish with Hammels at the top of your rotation gives you some strength at the top of the rotation.
Everything that possibly could have gone wrong for them went wrong and the Jays ambushed them. They were asleep for game 1 and the Jays had been playing essentially what were elmination games for the better part of 3 weeks. Game 2 was like the weirdest fucking thing I've seen with Darvish serving up meatballs and game 3, Lewis wasn't the guy for the job. They got to Sanchez, but it was a close enough game, and the Jays bullpen while not particularly deep, can compete... and they were in enough of a hole where they couldn't afford a mistake, and Rougy Odor screwed the pooch. |

I wonder how many Rangers fans still have nightmares of Game 6 of the 2011 World Series. That game convinced me that they will never ever win a World Series.

1run magic is impossible to control and near as much to repeat. I remember Showalter getting chapped at Brian Kenny for saying his team wouldn't repeat some ridiculous 1 run record they had and Showalter seemed to think it had to do with how the team was built.
Good on Texas for getting there. |

Definitely saw some cracks in the foundation. I think they also psyched themselves out with all the bullshit with the Jays.

I dunno. I'm sure it was talked about but i try not to think about that stuff. Toronto was just a better built club and in this case the better team won. Been a fun October so far.

Jays looked about a billion times better in this series than they did in the ALDS last year.

I'm hoping Cleveland takes a steaming dump on Boston tomorrow. Cleveland is so fun to watch. And I can like Andrew Miller now since he's not on the Yankees.

A little Blue Jays homerism mixed with some impressive fortune telling from back in August. The only real dickhead on the Rangers is Sam Dyson. He is honestly a fucking jerk. He's such a little wang in all of his interviews. |
