I think I'd have to ask about the relationship with Randy Savage and Steph. I can probably get most other questions answered elsewhere.

Yep, he said he was doomed from the start when his ankle was destroyed during the Nexus run. He was gone for a long time and he felt it was the reason they never trusted him.

I've heard this rumour lately and I'm really interested in getting the full story. There's some thought that when Hogan returned from the AWA in 1984 that Madison Square Garden was paying at least part if not all of Hulk Hogan's money in the beginning. Is this true.

It's not so much about the gossip, more about Randy's legacy. Why didn't Vince give him a second chance? He worked with everyone who he had beef with except Randy. Plus if Randy actually did seduce an underage girl then that story is quite important to paint the character portrait of someone most of us love.

Just what did Macho do I wonder since I've always considered him banging Steph to be bullshit. Vince is a man who brought in the guy who actively tried to ruin him.

I don't necessarily believe the Macho Man/Steph rumor, but it's not as ludicrous as people make out. It's just odd because of who Stephanie McMahon is in our public perception.

Macho Man took his Slim Jim contract with him to WCW. That's part of it. The other part is Vince envisioned Macho Man being his " Babe Ruth" and was really hurt when Randy left him.

Did Vince ever really see Macho as his main guy he seemed to take a backseat to the likes of Hogan and Warrior |

Everybody takes a backseat to Hogan. Even when Warrior and Savage were Champ.

Savage never really took a backseat to Warrior other than when Warrior was champ, which realistically how it shoulda been.
Hogan was a double edged sword. It's easy to argue that everyone shoulda taken the backseat to him, but it could also be argued that if he backed off the spotlight a bit, when he won the championship again it would have been more effective... more specifically with Warrior because when Savage won in 88 Hogan was supposed to be at the top. When Warrior won it's when the cuntier side of Hogan showed and it was sooner rather than later that he began wearing out his welcome. |

Going into Wrestlemania 6, Warrior was feuding with Hogan and Macho was with Dusty Rhodes. I love Dusty and all, but it was a upper mid card feud. Warrior was still an I.C guy until Wrestlemania 6, so I think that's where you can compare the two. Savage wrestled Ric Flair in a middle of the card title match at Wrestlemania 8 while Warrior returned in the Main Event match. Flair wasn't even really pushed while he was Champ. He didn't wrestle at Summerslam. Warrior was definitely ahead of Savage.

yeah I guess you're right. Savage still always seemed like a bigger star, just by proxy of being so much better.

Vince also thought that Savage was done, didn't he? When Savage kept wrestling for a good few years after this, it probably pissed off Vince. You'll be finished when he says you're finished.

Macho did always come across as being bigger to me personally, Part of it was that I couldn't stand Hogan growing up the other part was everything about Savage was just over the top his intensity felt real he had all these loud colors and that voice he just shined brighter in my eyes.

Yeah, he pushed for a feud with Shawn Michaels but Vince shot it down and wanted him on commentary. He did a couple house shows with HBK but that's it.

It makes me immensely sad that my first exposure to Macho Man was fucking 1999 WCW. Wrestling in leather pants, a biker cap, and not doing much in the ring. Could not understand why the announcers were talking him up so much. Only thing I liked was his big titted blonde girlfriend who was half his age.
Then I eventually got around to renting old WWF PPVs at Blockbuster and realized the error of my ways. |

Yeah the Macho Man/Stephanie thing didn't happen. Macho Man did a promo in 2000 on Triple H where he said he was going to take Stephanie from him and the rumor mutated from that.

One that I'm sure has been talked about plenty but why on Earth did Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair not main event Wrestlemania when you had the chance to make that happen in 1992?
