Question for the trained wrestlers of tpww about the superkick
So I was just wondering about what went into Shawn Michaels' sweet chin music.
Because obviously it started out as a transition move, and he didn't do it very well. I mean not terrible, but it's not as crisp and well done as it would prove to be. What work does Shawn put into the move to get it to where it was? Because by the end of his career it looked fantastic. I'm just curious as to what goes into refining your moves as a wrestler. Shawn at the point where he was busting out the savant kick as a transition move had been wrestling a long time already, but realistically it took him til 1995 to perfect that superkick. Is it a timing and form? Or is it just understanding the psychology of how to use it? Team Toxic 4 lyfe |

Yeah it's timing and confidence. I remember my early career as Knuckles Nelson my punches looked like dog shit. It came with confidence and timing. Just started be living in my abilities more.

When i started out in the Indies as Shitstain Pussystank, It took me a lot of time to master the complex move known as the Super kick. But once I did, I used it once and then went backstage and got fat and couldnt get my foot past my knee. So I retired my Shitstain Pussystank character and devoted my life to God.

Well, I can't speak on superkicks. As Beef Brickhouse, I didn'tt bother with none of that slant eyed kung fu jibber jabber. I can stess the importance of cupping the genitals properly during a gorilla press. I once got a little rough with Bad News Allen's equipment, and when we got to the back he beat me like a scalded dog!

RP's post easily the least funny. Speaking to his dipping quality as a tpww poster.

Gertner's right though, it basically comes down to timing and confidence. The reason it looked so good by the end of Michaels' career is coz he'd been doing it for 15/20 years.
My superkicks always looked like utter bollocks. |

I'd hoped that I'm right. I've been wrestling pro since 95.

Strikes are hard.
I feel like that point is lost on people who havent worked. Time is best teacher and imo over the years he just got better at it. The name of the game is to make it look like you killed a guy with out hurting him and strikes you see guys pull way early to save the guy. Its not until youve done a couple of hundred that it all comes together. |
