So glad I wasn't born in an era where people are intimidated by actually challenging games. I cannot for the life of me, fucking believe kids today cannot beat the original Punch-Out!!'s Glass Joe. And I'm not trying to judge or criticize anyone, but come the fuck on. There are very few fighters in boxing/MMA games easier to defeat than Glass Joe. But I'm happy for your huge triumph, Merc. Congrats! 😁😁😁👍👍👍👌

I am more amazed at how I beat certain games with no internet lol. I get stuck on the slightest thing now and am straight there to see what to do! Think our generation had more imagination! |

Wonder if Nintendo even cares since it will only increase the sales of the system.

The AtGames home console Genesis has some issues. First off the wireless controllers are ass. They are IR instead of another type of wireless so you have to keep them pointed at the system to get it to respond. Half of the games that come built in aren't even old Genesis games. They are bad rip offs of what feels like late 90s java games. Where as the AtGames Portable Genesis, once you load an SD card with the Roms, makes a nice and cheap portable system. Got mine for 20 bucks a few years ago. Already had the SD card. And so far whatever emulator AtGames uses plays about 80% of the games I have tried out. One major drawback is if the game has a battery backed up saving feature that will not work. So no Phantasy Star and really no RPGS. But for the cheap price it ain't bad. I keep mine in my backpack for when I have some downtime. Supposedly this year AtGames has a new version of the home console and the portable Genesis coming out. Using a new emulator which will improve not only the sound but the issues the old one had with some games. The sound not being accurate doesn't bother me that much. Even when I had a Genesis years ago I rarely played it with the sound on. I would instead put on some music and listen to that while playing. |

Acclaim tried it's hand at a wireless IR controller for the NES. Legend has it that due to the technological limitations of the time however it was largely ineffective.
It wouldn't be until the GameCube's WaveBird wireless controller that the potential for wireless controllers started to be realized. I had one back in the day and it was amazing. |

I like the shell, so I kind of want one to gut and put a Rasberry Pi in there.

I got lucky and managed to get 3 of the NES minis right before X-mas. Both my sons wanted one and my lady wanted one. Thought I was just gonna have to wait till January to get them. Then was reminded that the neighbor's daughter is the district manager for Gamestop in this area. Called her and got the 3 I needed for retail price. Gave her a $20 a s a thank you.
Playing around with the one I gave to my lady I do like it. But what suck is there is a bit of input lag. Most of the games it isn't even noticeable. But on Punch Out it is horrible. I use to be able to pretty much blow thru that game. And still can on a legit NES. But on the Mini the timing is slightly different. It is a neat plaything. But I am not going to bother getting one for myself. Sure I can hack it and get it to play lots of games. But I already own pretty much every system I want. What I really want now is a Retro AVS. Sure it is a bit over 100 bucks. But being able to play NES and Famicom carts on a system that isn't just a cheap NoC clone systme is great. Then add in that it had the four score/NES Satellite built in and had HDMI outputs without adding input lag to me it is worth the price. |

So, late to this party, but I had some people I used to work with keeping feelers out for me since December. Got the call a couple of days ago and was able to pick one up. Feel like I had to be more clandestine than some sort of illegal drug transaction, though.

[QUOTEYahoo]Earlier this year, the NES Classic Edition died an untimely death. According to Nintendo of America CEO Reggie Fils-Aime, the retro remake was never meant to be anything more than a limited-time release, but the company could never have predicted just how popular the device would become. [/QUOTE]Wait they canceled it WTF?

In an era where retro is incredibly popular, who could have possibly predicted that a plug in and play version of one of the most beloved consoles with a number of its most beloved games would be so popular?

Also unlike most gaming companies, a limited run by Nintendo almost is always legit in terms of rarity. |

People are interested in NES now because its 32 years old once it hits 36 people in their target market (18-35 years) won't even know what it is.

I'd bet on a SNES Classic Mini for this Holiday season is probably part of "TF", along with outstanding early sales numbers on the Switch. |
