Lol, 6 stars? That sounds a bit ridiculous. Would love to see Maria and Mike Bennett in the WWE. War Machine would be a good addition too. They're kind of like a more polished Authors of Pain at this point, aren't they?

War Machine would wipe the floor with AoP, at least in the ring presence department. Those young big boys in Pain wonder down to the ring like they were just let out of a cage and don't know why they are in the building.

Cole and War Machine will be great additions. Hate O'Reilly though, but they probably see him as a Daniel Bryan type or something. Really think k War Machine could go straight to the main roster but a run in NXT wouldn't be bad. Cole is obviously going to be the headliner of that group and I expect he'll be in the NXT title picture quickly.

I don't agree with Meltzer on every rating and I'd put this match on the same level of others rather than a league of its own, but it was an absolutely spectacular wrestling match. Even with a slowish start I was on the edge of my seat by the end of it.
Unfortunately the match has been talked up so much that I think people who've not had a chance to see it are going to go into it skeptical and automatically assuming it can't be as good as people are saying. Any match, movie, etc. if the baseline set for it before you've ever seen it is "definitely the best thing ever". |

Nothing even remotely close to as entertaining as they have been this past year with the Broken gimmick.

Wouldn't mind seeing another Jeff Hardy run at the top. Hardy vs. Lesnar would be money.

NeoGAF's wrestling board found the match he gave an unofficial 6 star rating while supposedly there is a women's match from Japan that got rated even higher unofficially from him (5++ stars). Jeff Hardy has got a lot of value. If he was willing to go clean and give up the drugs for a bit of a sustained run in the WWE, I have no doubt he'd get a main event push. There's just no one that touches him in the charisma department. I could very easily see him winning a Royal Rumble and headlining WrestleMania.
Matt Hardy would be filler on his own. I think it would be better to bring back Jeff and leave Matt to do his shtick on the indies, but given how they are all about bulk, bulk, bulk and more is better, Matt would probably get signed if he wanted to and would probably make a pretty decent mid-card babyface for heels on the rise to kick the shit out of. They'd probably try to turn him heel out of jealousy for Jeff one more time and he'd get a failed run near the top because he actually can't talk well, and the sort of push Matt needs, contrary to Jeff, is one that requires him to be able to explain his motivations. As a tag team they'd move a ton of merchandise and be an exciting act for a while. Kevin Owens & Chris Jericho vs. The Hardy Boyz would be a WrestleMania worthy match. They'd probably put out a DVD on their life and times. I do think that there is more money and fun in Jeff Hardy singles star, provided that he is in the frame of mind to be reliable -- but they are running out of part-timers to come and have short burst runs that get more over than the full-time stuff, so Jeff could be one of those. Something more optimistic for Matt is that I could see him doing something more along the lines of his Broken Matt shtick in NXT, since it's the Hunter project and the WWE doesn't seem to mind it being a money pit in order to keep those Network subscribers high. Matt's a veteran talent who does have something to offer, and I could very easily see a serious Kassius Ohno vs. goofy Matt feud over the NXT Title. The NXT fanbase -- the hardcores -- would eat that shit right up. |

Its why whenever anyone asks him about his ratings, he usually says or implies to not take those ratings seriously. Also those ratings are always based on how he felt right after watching a match. |

Isn't Lesnar's contract up at WM as well? Would be funny is both Goldberg and Lesnar wrestled one another and left the company again at a WrestleMania.

I'm still hoping for Adrian Neville vs. Kota Ibushi for the Cruiserweight Title at WrestleMania, dammit. Nothing else will touch it as far as quality and drama goes. Ibushi has, in a way, earmarked himself as the star of the division by not signing right away and teething issues are worked out. Neville works as the spoiler right now and again, it's a different gimmick from the NXT presentation that works main roster. Well, it might be a bit premature to call Neville's heel run a success right away.
But yeah, I'm all-in for Neville vs. Ibushi in a 6-star classic at WrestleMania. Let Ibushi work limited dates. Fuck it. I've accepted Cena vs. Undertaker as the main event of WrestleMania, and I don't think any amount of Okada/Omega is going to change Vince's mind on that. I just hope my pipe-dream of AJ Styles losing the belt and calling out HBK comes to fruition. |

Once Owens loses the Universal Title, I think the cracks between him and Jericho will continue. I don't really see how you create something with actual drama between the two, and I don't know who you turn, since both are such heels (with no real heat), but I don't think that stops the WWE. I'd rather see them as a proper team against The New Day or something, but whatever. It's possible that Sami Zayn ends up in the match as a Triple Threat? Can Owens & Jericho put their issues aside to stomp out Sami Zayn, or will they destroy each other allowing Zayn to jet to victory? I think Brock will re-sign, but will get paid more money to do even less work. |

If they wanted to do the match they could have done it a lot earlier when it would have meant more. I personally don't think Taker really wants to do the match and would rather face someone else. You'd think if anyone has earned the right to choose his opponent, it'd be Taker. |

Dirty grittiness and Iron Mike Sharpe does not compute. He was the cleanest wrestler ever with his OCD.. Once got locked into the Boston Garden and had to stay there overnight because they locked up the building while he was still showering.

Hmm. I think you can build Roman Reigns by having him squash Goldberg or something. I'd go balls-in with heel Reigns, but even as an ironic babyface that is really your heel, you don't need to go with Reigns/Taker.
By the way, when I said "What do you know?" I am meant it in a sly "tell me your secrets" sort of way, and not in a dismissive "Pfft, what do you know?" kind of way. I just realized how that could have been misconstrued. |

Roman squashing Goldberg in 5 minutes is how I would book that match as well. Gives Goldberg time to hit his signature moves, maybe they briefly brawl outside the ring, spot involving the barrier or table or something of the sort, Roman eventually gets the upper hand and BOOM match over. Vince finally accomplishes his dream of making Roman look strong since they've built up that Goldberg destroyed Lesnar with ease in short time. Also better for the fans because we aren't stuck with a 20 minute clunker. Each gets a big entrance, match is about 5 minutes, wham bam thank you mam' done.

I actually like the idea of Reigns beating and retiring Taker. Reigns needs that signature win.

Kurt Angle signing some sort of Legends deal to stop himself from wrestling -- or at least get his dates approved by the company -- and a spot in the video game and maybe a non-wrestling role he can occasionally fill (WWE Ambassador, etc.) seems logical at this point, provided Angle is willing to abide by the WWE's rules.

Goldberg is popular enough that people will care that he loses. I think you can wring way more out of him, but there's "redemption" there for him. That's never been a particularly appealing part of the Goldberg persona (him being a sure thing was always his attraction), but this is 2017 and you've only got a handful of guys with that star potential. You can have Goldberg pin Sheamus or something at another PPV to get some energy back. Another way to go about it is to have The Usos get involved by attacking Goldberg during the course of the match, they get the Goldberg specials to pop the crowd, but Goldie turns into a Spear from Reigns and gets pinned. It's a bit bullshitty, but if you want to go with Reigns as a heel and protect Goldberg, there are ways to do it. I can also see Reigns with a plate in his vest, so Goldberg knocks himself out on his own Spear. But it might just be better to have Reigns just kick Goldberg's ass. |
