The end of the 80's was the end of John Carpenter really and I'm not particularly sad about that.

Tremors was better than anything he had done for years when it came out and it felt like another director had taken up the mantle of mock-schlock in his honour.
I'm not joking when I say I prefer the numerous low budget Tremors sequels to his heartbreakingly bad 90's and 2000's efforts.
