1) Some Nintendo-related news:

• According to Famitsu magazine, Sega will be removing several classic Sonic games from the Wii Virtual Console on October 30th.

• Based on Nintendo's recent fiscal report, around 20 million amiibo figurines have been shipped since its launch while around 8.6 million Animal Crossing amiibo cards (individual, not packs) have been sold so far.

• Also based on Nintendo's recent fiscal reports, overall profits were slightly down compared to last year although Wii U sales and overall software sales were up compared to last year.

• Nintendo announced a new account system is currently in development for the Nintendo Network with some of the planned features being the dropping of the Friends Code system, ability to make purchases from mobile and PC browsers, and a new Club Nintendo-like service called My Nintendo arriving by March 2016.

• Nintendo and DeNA's first official mobile game was revealed to be called Miitomo which is a Mii-based free-to-play game arriving by March 2016.

2) Some Sony related news:

• During a recent Q&A session, Playstation boss Shuhei Yoshida stated its very unlikely PSN will offer the ability for user ID/name changes at least within the near future. Implied it is due to the way PSN was designed which is making it tough for their engineers to find a way to make it possible.
