The belief among those I've spoken with is that it's not considered a serious issue and that WWE likely pulled Owens as a preemptive measure to insure he would be OK and healthy for the 1/28 Royal Rumble, where Owens and Sami Zayn are slated to challenge WWE champion AJ Styles in a handicap match in the main event for the Smackdown brand on the joint PPV in Philadelphia.

According to the Observer, earliest WWE can sign him to a deal is February 1st making it impossible he makes a surprise appearance at this year's Rumble.

- The April 22nd pay-per-view has been changed from Lockdown to Redemption. The new hierarchy in the company was against the idea of an all cage match show.

- Eddie Edwards was injured during the tapings. Sami Callihan hit a chair with a baseball bat and the bat ricocheted off the chair and hit his eye. It was a scary situation because there was so much blood and they were scared for his eye. Edwards was rushed to the hospital. I'm told he's okay now.

- The Grand Championship has been dropped.

- Jerry Lynn was brought in as an agent.

PWInsider.com has confirmed that the updated screenplay has been completed and turned into the studio. Should they approve, it will be sent on to Cooper and his team.

Plans have been for the film to begin filming in the Spring of 2018, but that has always been contingent on getting casting completed and a final, approved shooting script in place.

The script to Pandemonium was originally written by Craig A. Williams (who wrote Disney's live action Underdog adaptation few years back) back in 2015 and has undergone several drafts. The belief was that once WWE Studios became involved with the project, the existing script would undergo heavy rewrites to remove some of aspects of the film that the McMahon family would not be happy with. That has now happened.

They post more mature content on the Network from the Attitude Era and don’t seem to be worried that it will cut into ad rates on their main programs or the impact that would have on their stocks. Have they ever thought of working with USA to create an edgier show during the 10-11 hour? Keep 8 to 10 PG and get those sponsors while also keeping Raw to two hours to cut back on creative and ratings fatigue. And from 10 to 11, develop an edgier product that would be sold to a different set of advertisers and reach a different audience while the kids go to bed. It would be something for kids to graduate to when they outgrow Raw and would open up a different revenue stream. Anyways, I am just spitballing an idea. Would love to hear your thoughts.

First, the content on the Network that you refer to is older and behind a pay wall. It is not the current product and isn’t subject to advertisers. I can’t say if USA would be amenable to your idea or not, but even if they were, sponsors like Mattel wouldn’t be. WWE would rather have the better perception from Wall Street and potential partners than appealing to an older audience. Also, keep in mind that Vince McMahon has always been about marketing to kids. We only ever got the Attitude Era because the then-WWF was losing badly to WCW and Vince McMahon stepped out of his comfort zone with the product. Once he won the war, he went back to doing what he likes to do.
From PWI's weekly Q&A articles on the likelihood WWE ever goes back to TV-14 or higher for their shows.

It's worth noting that WWE reportedly announced Jericho without there being a deal for the return. It was noted on today's edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that Jericho will likely appear next Monday but WWE did announce him prematurely. Dave Meltzer added that a deal could be signed today, if it hasn't been made already.

The talk of Jericho appearing at RAW 25 goes back several months. New Japan Pro Wrestling officials also knew that Jericho would be appearing at RAW 25 when they recently worked with him. Jericho is not signed to any kind of exclusive NJPW contract and he's not currently signed to a WWE deal.
