can we not refer to "seasons" of comics? seems retarded, like calling an album a "set"

i know there's like "smallville season 11" and "buffy season 8" but they followed directly on from a tv series, so it makes more sense than to just arbitrarily start calling arcs (however lengthy) seasons


unless i am missing something and there is some kind of official word on calling this thing a new "season"


seems so strange to me though. even "volume" would be better, if we really have to call it something
