Just watched the leaked pilot, and I actually kinda dig it.

Granted, it's very shmaltzy, so this really isn't gonna be your cup of tea if you're more into dark-and-gritty superhero stuff, but it's fun. And thankfully, the rom-com stuff is nowhere near as prevalent as the previews make it out to be. It's still there, but it's heavier on regular superhero stuff.

Melissa Benoist is really good, and the rest of the cast is competent (except the guy who plays Winn-- he sucks). Pilots are always kinda hard to get a read on, since everyone's still trying to figure out what the hell their characters are going to be like, so I imagine it'll get better as it goes.

Really, really hope they don't spend the rest of the series off-handedly mentioning "just like your cousin" or "you-know-who in Metropolis" or whatever-- that shit got old fast. And some of the green-screen shots are just painful, but there's only so much you can do when you're trying to do Superman-level special effects on a TV budget.

Overall, it's not as good as the Flash, but if you like Flash, you'll probably enjoy Supergirl too.
