Well I mean Sting had several successful tag runs (at the to) on top of being a very memorable Main Event Singles competitor.

I'd rate Matt higher as a tag team talent, because the Hardyz revolutionized the tag division, but Sting's singles run made him a bigger star and was simply just better than Matt's tag run. (I don't count his TNA run)
