I think there's a difference between a bump and direct contact with the head. Of course when you're concussed, absorbing big knocks/recoil is going to be an ongoing concern, but taking a flat back bump properly is not going to cause concussions where there isn't. Keep in mind Gertner, he's been cleared, tested, and proving of showing no actual susceptibility to concussions.

I would compare what happened to Daniel Bryan with what happened to Sidney Crosby. Looked like "the kid" was done, and he's been better than ever. It's not like he isn't getting his ass run into the boards night after night.
