Ok, I'm an idiot. When choosing to craft fire, ice, or blizzard spells, there is a fourth option that I thought was for crafting items, but is actually for adding items to spells for different effects, like healing for the caster, poison,multiple strikes, etc.

So the magic system is deeper than I had originally thought. Good shit.
