In cinema years Halloween is ancient and remaking it is another indictment on today's John Carpenter.
It's common knowledge that the film industry spent the entire 80's trying to recapture that formula with varying degrees of success in cheap nasty slasher films that Jamie Lee Curtis herself occassionally starred in. Seeing her rehash the same story for the 50th time is just absolutely pointless because she's done it under the Halloween banner and several others and the returns are either diminished or barely noticeable and the end product is always garbage in comparison to the original Halloween.

John Carpenters ideas for Halloween have never been used to make a good movie without him and he himself hasn't made a good movie for thirty years so I sincerely doubt a background dominating annoyance like Danny McBride is going to knock up anything that could override my memories of Busta Rhymes front kicking Michael Myers out of a fucking window.
