Yeah, lots of Australians say this about the Aussie accent. There are also regional differences, and the natural Australian accent is different from the television one. When Aussies talk on television they change their voice because the natural one is way too nasally. I don't know how to explain it, haha.

I guess it's a bit like how William Regal dressed up his accent for a long time when appearing on WWF television. Except his voice is glorious.
