Terry Funk is one of the greatest all-round performers in the history of the industry. Bob Backlund is not everybody's cup of tea, but I can understand the appeal. He did a few things VERY well. But he still feels shoe-horned into that era as an unnecessary change from Billy Graham, if just because of that promise that Vince, Sr. made. That was the vision from the start, but I can't help but feel that Graham would have been better. Backlund had a bit of a limit on what he could achieve. Funk, in comparison, had a much broader career. He was never the guy in the WWF, but it all just adds up for him.
