In interviews with both the Associated Press and Zoomin Games, Shigeru Miyamoto reveals his current development plans involve a brand new "original title" along with his reactions from the incorrect news about his retirement.

Besides confirming development on Pikmin 3 for the Wii U and Luigi's Mansion 2 for the 3DS, Miyamoto also revealed he's is working on a third "undisclosed original title." While he didn't mention anything about the title itself, he did provide a hint of it won't have photo realistic graphics nor is it based on anything he's previously worked on.

Quote:
"when it comes to the realistic games, you have to create something familiar. I [Miyamoto] personally want to make something really different."
Quote:
“People have come to expect a lot from me. This certainly makes me feel some pressure,” noted Miyamoto. “But if you ask me, ‘Is it too much pressure to try to come out with something new?’ I have to say no, I’m enjoying myself. But when I make something, I always try to do my best.”
In terms of the incorrect story about him retiring from Nintendo, Miyamoto was a bit shocked at how huge the reaction became especially the part about him splitting away time from developing games in order to mentor the younger developers in the company. He believes once he's finally ready to retire, the same characters and franchises he helped create at Nintendo will last well beyond his own lifetime.

Quote:
“I was pretty surprised with the reactions that the people had against the comment that I made,” said Miyamoto to the Associated Press. “I really appreciate all the kindness given the kind of comments I made. But to be clear, I have no intention to retire at all. I'm not old enough to think about retirement right now, but everybody has to retire at some point. I wanted to make clear that we are preparing for that.”
