That is how I did my 1st playthrough. What'd you think?

Currently level 12 on my 2nd playthrough and heel run. Sticking to melee primarily. Been using a serrated machete and chained baseball bat until I find a sledge and/or can get Blacksmith level 2 (level 16 I think). A properly built melee character is tons better than a commando, IMO. For larger groups, some mines as contingency work amazingly well, especially for suicide super mutants.

Smashing the shit outta everything is great, and with a STR, AGI, LUCK build, crits are up every 5-6 hits, so even heavily armored opponents go down with relative ease. The hardest encounter I have had so far was Fist at the top of Trinity Tower. His god damn minigun was ruthless. Used some molotovs and mines to wither away most of his health. He still had a skull by his name at my level, so I took a lot of damage quickly.

Melee - the way to play
