This was the first week in a long time that SmackDown finished outside of the top 10 in terms of total viewers on cable, with Tuesday being a particularly strong night for news channels due to coverage of the special election in Alabama. SmackDown was sixth in the 18-49 demo with a 0.71 rating. The show is usually either first or second in that demo on cable.

For the fourth straight week, SmackDown was up in the year-over-year ratings as they continue to hold up well since the WWE Championship was switched over to AJ Styles.

Itami has been wrestling on NXT house shows while waiting to debut on 205 Live, but he hasn't appeared on television since losing to Kassius Ohno in a no disqualification match that aired in September.

Tokyo Sports announced the winners of their annual awards today. Tetsuya Naito won MVP for the second straight year, Kazuchika Okada vs. Kenny Omega from the January 4th Tokyo Dome show won best match, Io Shirai won the top women’s award, and Katsuyori Shibata was honored with the Fighting Spirit award. Suwama & Shuji Ishikawa won tag team of the year and Yuma Aoyagi from AJPW won rookie of the year.

Rolling Stone interviewed Kenny Omega about his match with Chris Jericho at Wrestle Kingdom 12. When asked about using blood in the angle they did at the World Tag League finals, Omega said: “I've been lucky where I've asked for a little bit of trust from the company. When you put yourself in a situation like that, you either hit consecutive home runs or you're dead in the water, because there's a lot of money on the line, there's a reputation on the line. And a lot of times I really forced them to step out of their comfort zone. Between last year's G1 and now with Jericho, I have done a lot of things the company isn't necessarily comfortable with, but they're seeing positive growth from it. Drawing blood is a faux paus. They don't like it at all. Our parent company makes its money through anime and card games.”

MLW uploaded their Never Say Never show for free on YouTube. It features Matt Riddle vs. Tom Lawlor and Jimmy Havoc & Darby Allin vs. John Hennigan & Shane Strickland in a no DQ match.

ROH is hyping that there will be a major announcement for Women of Honor at Final Battle on Friday.

Zack Sabre Jr. will face Amazing Red for the first time at House of Glory’s show in New York City on Saturday.

Sahadi was responsible for crafting a lot of the video features and material that aired before PPVs and was considered an extremely talented Director.

Sahadi came to Impact in March 2006. He had previously held the post of Director of On Air Promotion for WWE and when he later joined TNA, it was considered a major hiring for the company.

It's worth noting that the WWE website lists Samoa Joe, and no "Final Fan Vote" option, for the RAW brand but he was not announced earlier. It looks like they may have spoiled the "Final Fan Vote" for RAW, indicating that some of the voting in this competition is rigged.
