Being speculated/rumored Nintendo gave Nvidia a lot of control over the development of the Switch in regards to manufacturing and designs unlike how past consoles were handled.

Nvidia themselves revealed they have been working on the Switch for around two years and teased at having similar roles for future Nintendo consoles at least for the next two decades.
