I'll admit that Reverend D-Von was a guilty pleasure of mine. It's not that it was good or anything, I just always had a soft spot for over the top gimmicks in the undercard and by the time D-Von showed up I think you had The Hurricane and Goldust as the only real "gimmick" guys in the company. D-Von cutting a serious promo deriding masturbation and having to do it with a straight face made me laugh so much.
That being said, while I thought it made for a nice comedy heel gimmick, that's the furthest extent D-Von ever could've reasonably gotten on his own. A serious D-Von solo push would've gone over like a fart in church (pun intended).
Hawk at least could believably make something of himself on his own, and as mentioned in the last thread he was a much better wrestler than he was allowed to showcase when siloed into a tag team.
