I don't know what the ratio is with rumor to facts, but didn't they film a bunch of cameos for the scripted slate of films at the shooting stage "just in case"?

I hope he gets an animated send-off like Jack Kirby did in Justice League (the "uncensored" version, where there were Marvel characters he had a hand in at the funeral.) Or like some in-universe memorial in New York that gets visited both on the big screen and in the Netflix shows.
