Puts EC3 over more. Makes sense to me, it's not like nothing happened either. EC3 can cheat to win but if you cheat to beat him he has the power to fix it, plus he won the tournament so it puts him over pretty well. Now the lolTNA moment will be if they forget that Tyrus is the #1 contender.
