I recall reading people saying that if you give them 1 of the correct ammo it effectively gives them unlimited. I kind of remember testing it but it's been a while since I've actually played (
) so I forget. I do recall giving Cait a single Frag Grenade and her being able to blow me up quite handily.
I usually just stick them with their default weapon and not worry about it anyway...
