I mean, sure, anything can be done competitively if you got enough people that are hardcore about it, like chess or Scrabble, but come on; it's Nintendo characters bonking each other in a comically slapstick fashion. I'm not going to deny them their passion, though. I've played some mean games of Scrabble myself.
