I'll concede, much like Michaels I don't think Bret could be THE guy, but you put him in a role similar to Mick Foley or Chris Jericho, aka AROUND the top, doing meaningful shit, with title reigns thrown in the mix, he'd be perfect.

Also, Bret was never fully given the ball to run with, he was booked as a mid card champ and rarely as a focal point. So we'd never know if his draw was any good tbh.
