Sony manages to forget all their hardship on making the PSP and PS3 a bit too expensive by stating in a press report that Sony isn't concerned about pricing their platforms (and games on a whole).

The boss of Sony tried to say that its better for a product to be seen as enjoyable for years and more valuable in features than in its initial or current price. This announcement comes after Sony's recent success of the PS3 sales at lower prices and after admitting the $600 PS3 price was a mistake.

Quote:
Tretton added that "It's not to say the price of the platform isn't a consideration, but I don't think price makes or kills a platform,” speaking about console pricing in general and not pertaining to a specific platform. He also remarked that something lousy and very expensive is not going to be successful and that something that might be considered pricey will ultimately find its audience if there’s enough value to be had there.
He indirectly compared the PS3 to the iPhone/iPad line by saying people are willing to buy expensive things regardless of price.

Sony is also planning on putting some priority on 3D and Move-enabled games for their future success with the PS3.

Some upcoming games news:
Namco announces Galaga Legions DX is in development from the same team who made Pac-Man CE and will have similar gameplay style and appearance.

Nintendo of America might be bringing The Last Story rpg to the US/Canada after filing for a website domain for the game. Currently just Europe is confirmed to get the game later this year.

EA reveals NBA Jam: On Fire Edition will arrive this fall and this time as a downloadable game for XBLA and PSN with a retail disc version possible. EA managed to ignore making a Wii version even though NBA Jam on the Wii was responsible for over 50% of the sales.
