How many of todays stars were influenced by chris benoit? Doubt many would admit it now for obvious reasons, but I'm guessing a lot.

I never thought it was fair to label benoit with the "vanilla midget" label. He had an intensity in everything he did, which was as much of a defining characteristic as his ring work, and made him stand out from other workrate guys.

His promos may not have been as memorable as his peers, but when he started talking, you knew it was benoit promo, which is an important point to make because a lot of guys promos today, all sound the same.

Benoit worked during a time where we were spoiled for choice with unique, larger than life personalities. If he were around today, he would stand out a lot more than most of the current crop of talent.

Snuka may have been a bigger star in his era, but for me benoit was better in every other way.
