Unlike the Wii U, Nintendo won't be selling the Switch at a loss although at the moment haven't committed to a final price for the console according to a Wall Street Journal source with direct ties to the company.

Quote:
Wall Street Journal reporter Takashi Mochizuki, who has long since had a direct line in on Nintendo, is stating that the company "won't make a loss" selling the Nintendo Switch, but it's "also listening to what consumers expect...when setting price."
For some reference the Wii U was the first console Nintendo sold at a loss for launch. Similar to the PS4's launch, only needed the purchase of 1 game for Nintendo to break even for each console sold.
