Shoot interviews, mostly. He's a "warts and all" kinda guy. From my impression of him from them (an others, like James Mitchell) seems like he would get along with just about everyone, that he's a little more intelligent than he is actually able to articulate, and that he would have a more "European" attitude about "light" alcohols like beer or wine not being a big deal. My parents were like that because of all the time they spent in Spain. They didn't see keeping wine in the house as a huge deal, and I drank it all the time. Well, not "all" the time for buzz purposes, but with meals and such. I tried beer pretty young as well; guessing the idea being I wouldn't wait until I was older and "go sneak some" (I personally found it disgusting, and I'm still not a beer guy to this day, and I've tried loads of different types that range from fairly tolerable to fucking abysmal). Seems like he would be the same way, and given the environment of being around "the boys", he might have figured she might have had some before and thought the same of a can of beer as a can of Pepsi.

It would be a little different if he were offering shots of Jagermeister.

"Was he a great worker? Absolutely not! He was the drizzling shits, and probably the worst wrestler in the history of the business!" - Paul Heyman

Granted, he was doing name association with ECW talents, and he put over guys Raven and RVD being spectacular in the ring, and he went on to illustrate how, even though Sandman was gawdawful, he was a huge attraction because he had the entrance, the charisma, and that everyman attachment to the ECW crowd that essentially made him a god there. I just really think that part of the quote was funny, especially since he was really praising the man's strengths. Out of context, it doesn't look like that at all.

Aside from that, I think even Sandman would be (and has been) the first to admit he really wasn't that good.

Though, imagining him putting on a clinic even on par with Steve Regal is funny too, especially since he was another who wasn't a big subscriber to clean living.
