Ziggler being written off TV has fueled speculation that there might be contract issues between him and WWE, but that is not the case.

PWInsider.com has confirmed that Ziggler has indeed signed a new deal with WWE, and he was written off TV as he is currently in Vancouver shooting the upcoming WWE Studios movie “6:42.” The movie is a thriller, and Ziggler will play a cop named Ray Fitzpatrick, who has to overcome his past while dealing with a plot to blow up a child with a bomb strapped to their chest.

Filming of the movie is scheduled to last four weeks, which will put Ziggler back on WWE TV in mid-August and in time for the SummerSlam PPV.

Monday's episode of WWE RAW, featuring NXT Divas and the final Battleground hype, drew 3.531 million viewers. This is down 3% from last week's 3.647 million viewers. For this week's show, the first hour drew 3.432 million viewers, the second hour drew 3.514 million viewers and the final hour drew 3.647 million viewers. Cable TV was dominated by MLB's coverage of the All-Star Game Home Run Derby last night. The Derby drew 7.126 million viewers on ESPN.
In terms of historic viewership stuff, continuing the trend of this year being one of the lowest since the late 90s. Also the WWE's so-called "main event match" for the 1st hour ended up doing nothing to help.

In an update to the Roddy Piper, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Podcast One situation, Piper is alleging on Twitter that Podcast one has sent a cease and desist letter. The cease and desist apparently states that the WWE Hall of Famer Piper can't publish any more podcasts, regardless of where they're hosted. Piper had moved to Soundcloud after having a major falling out with Podcast One earlier in the year. Piper blamed Austin's complaint on his sour relationship with Podcast One, as well as the cease and desist letter. Austin had an episode of Piper's Pit pulled months ago when he didn't like the subject matter, which included former Mad TV cast member Will Sasso impersonating him.
According to the Observer, the letter was sent because Piper tried to renege on his buyout deal with Podcast One. Austin was also more upset at Piper never bothering to ask if he wanted to be a guest and misleading listeners than the prank itself.

WWE officials were said to be "absolutely thrilled" with how the NXT Divas segment came off on this week's RAW from Atlanta, according to PWInsider. There was a feeling that WWE's Divas division turned a corner with the angle. WWE originally wanted to do this program closer to SummerSlam in August but the US Women's national soccer team winning last week and all the attention they received led to WWE pushing the plans up to this week.

Mexican promotion AAA were the first to confirm he was ok last night and debunking rumors of him being dead or being in drug/cartel related problems.
