Thing is, he didn't though. Kitamura crafted the gameplay, the pick your stage gimmick and everything else that made Megaman what he is today. Inafune was in the art department and did sprite work as well. Wasn't until 3 that he took over as the project leader and implemented his own major gameplay ideas. By then the groundwork was firmly established.

Not trying to take away from Inafune btw. He was involved in the series for a lot longer, and I'm fine with him getting the lion's share of credit for the series success.

I just think this other guy deserves some more credit, considering he typically gets none at all.
