There's no reason Brock vs. Roman can't happen at Mania. Brock can bend Vince over and basically call his own shots with him. The way they are pushing Roman as a challenger clearly means that wins and losses don't matter. They think they are a different genre all together and are all about storytelling. But if Brock loses in the UFC, it doesn't matter to their narrative. Roman will just use that for "zingers" and as hope that he can finally overcome the doubters and beat Brock in WWE style competition.

I doubt it would close the show, but it's not out of the realm of possibility. The booking of Roman's ascension has been just to fill time before they need to start thinking about what to do with him once he actually has the belt.
