I'm going all over the place with this, but basically the idea of a Crusierweight Division in the WWE is dumb, because you want to be a heavyweight, so when the term "cruiserweight" was exiled, everybody got more of a chance. Now you are reminding people that people are little again, and they're being booked in the same style and no one gives a flying fuck, and it was always going to be that way, just like it was always going to be that Asuka would end up as just another girl.
Biggest mistake was having Vince be in total control of the division considering its arguably the one thing he can't book correct or handle based on history.

Agree on the last part since nothing about the division really feels unique compared to the CWC or even how other companies promote Cruiser style wrestling. Triple H had the right idea about wanting to limit wear and tear but WWE went overboard with the restrictions and forcing the WWE style on the division.
