Regular season play:
- your 3 division foes 18 times each (3 3-game series home and away)(54 games)
- a 3-game series against the other 12 teams in your league, home and away (72 games)
- a 2-game series EITHER home OR away against 15 of the 16 teams in the other league (30 games)
- a 2-game series home and away against your "natural" rival as has been in place since 2013 (4 games)

54+72+30+4=160. Each team ends up losing 1 home date and 1 away date.

There probably is no "perfect solution" that will satisfy everybody or not cause a bunch of complications.
I was pondering the problematic postseason travel schedule, and just came up with something: The team WITHOUT home field in rounds 1 and 2 host first (Game 1 in round 1 and Games 1&2 in round 2) The team WITH the advantage then hosts the remaining games in the series. You end up with only one travel day per series.

The removal of 2 games would make the season end on a Friday. Any tie-breaker game would be played on Saturday, and the first round schedule would be Sunday/Tues/Wed. Round 2 then would be Fri/Sat/Mon/Tues/Wed. CS and WS would be unaffected.
