The idea of doing a Universal Champion vs. WWE Champion match for Survivor Series has been discussed for a long time, according to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter. The current mentality within WWE is that this is not considered a major match. There's also the idea that this will just be something for Lesnar to do on a big show, to build to bigger matches for him. It's likely that Finn Balor will be Lesnar's opponent for the Royal Rumble in January and then the plan has been for Lesnar to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 34.

No word yet on the finish for The Beast vs. The Modern Day Maharaja but The Observer notes that Lesnar losing to Jinder makes no sense due to his recent wins over Bill Goldberg, Samoa Joe and Braun Strowman. A loss by Jinder makes SmackDown feel more like the B show. A finish with outside interference for a DQ or No Contest is always possible but finishes like that at major shows usually don't sit well with fans.

WWE announced today that Michaels will be refereeing an NXT Championship match between Drew McIntyre and Adam Cole, which will take place as NXT comes to the Aztec Theatre for a house show on November 17th. McIntyre is set to defend his title in Houston against Andrade "Cien" Almas the next day.

The likely reason for Michaels being added to the show is because Ring of Honor has a show in San Antonio head-to-head that night.

Originally McIntyre vs. Cole was to headline the TakeOver show in Houston until the decision was made to revive the War Games concept.

ROH announced today that Kenny Omega would be wrestling at Supercard of Honor XII in 2018. The show will take place at the UNO Lakefront Arena on Saturday, April 7th and will go against that weekend's NXT TakeOver special.

Omega is the second wrestler to be announced for Supercard of Honor 2018, joining Hiroshi Tanahashi. ROH has yet to reveal any details about the matches they'll be taking part in.

With both Omega and Tanahashi announced, it means NJPW isn't running a major date at that time, and also means that much of the New Japan talent will likely be available. Normally NJPW runs a major show at Sumo Hall in Tokyo on that weekend, and thus, the New Japan stars haven't been available to ROH for its annual Mania events.
Seems the plan by ROH is to break their all-time record for attendance which was set at last year's Mania week show. Link to the announcement: http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/bre...card-honor-xii

A source close to the situation has told PWInsider.com that the company has been ramping up pitches to several different UK broadcasters. The pitch revolves around the idea of carrying a WWE UK-centric property that would be produced in Great Britain featuring an all British cast of characters.

The current title for the series, we are told, is WWE King of The Ring. Obviously, that is a repurposing of the title of a tournament that has been around since the late 1980s, initially as an annual special event in the Boston market before graduating into its own PPV event in 1993. The King of the Ring PPV was halted in 2006 but was brought back from time to time as an attraction used to elevate talents to the next level. It was last used in 2015 with Bad News Barrett winning the tournament.

PWInsider.com has also been told that one of the broadcasters WWE is pitching is ITV, which is interesting on a number of levels.

When it came out that it wasn’t a lot of speculation was on Samoa Joe, who is ready to return any time now. His return angle was strong and with all the gimmicks and all the people involved, it should be a wild match. But it’s very much a one-match show.

But nobody, including WWE, is testing that and offering deals to those guys until they get releases because nobody wants the legal problem. If the show isn’t renewed, there is a lot of good talent on the free agent market and even though WWE is making money and ROH and New Japan have both grown, the latter two already are overloaded with talent, and while I could see ROH making a play for guys like Penta 0M and Fenix, or perhaps others, there’s a finite number of people they can probably add. WWE can add as many as they want, but WWE is cutting back on spending to get their profit margins up and it’s not that there is a hiring freeze (although that term has been given to me when it comes to some departments), but they are very judicious in who they sign and most of the offers are not big money offers.

They have their own developmental program, but it seems like the guys that come from ROH have somewhat more cachet.” I think that’s pretty obvious because if Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly had never become stars in ROH, it’s unlikely either would have gotten anywhere close to the level of push they’re getting now. Another quote that a lot of people have talked about was him mentioning he’s asked a lot if ROH is helped a lot due to its connection with New Japan and he said he wondered if the press is asking in Japan whether ROH is the reason why New Japan is so great. No, I don’t think the Japanese press is asking that
