No, not the requisite "become a badass submission machine", but just completely loses his shit. He's wrapped up so much of his identity in being IC champion, especially on this run, that he could use it as a catalyst to freshen up again.
Gets told he has to get to the "back of the line". He becomes inconsolable by the Miztourage. Stops giving a fuck how he looks. He starts kicking much ass and gets DQ's and ref reversed decisions for a hot minute. Becomes serious-pants obsessed with regaining the title... or ANY title. Hell, it could even be a gateway where he steps back up to main event, but not really neccessary.
