Set in Los Angeles, “GLOW” will follow “an out of work actress who finds one last attempt to live her dreams in the form of a weekly series about female wrestlers.” Though inspired by actual events, the series will be a fictionalized account. Co-created by Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch, the “GLOW” remake — which has a 10-episode order — will be a half-hour comedy series.

The original series ran for four seasons from 1986-1990. Created by Matt Cimber, the show was based on Jackie Stallone’s women’s fitness gym Barbarella’s, where wrestler-turned-Hollywood stuntman Mando Guerrero was a trainer.

Kohan will executive produce with “Orange is the New Black” EP Tara Herrmann as well as Flahive and Mensch.
