The FIght Network, which Anthem Sports & Entertainment (the parent company of Impact Wrestling) owns, will have a daily block of programming on Showcase TV in the UK starting at 9 p.m. every night. PROGRESS Wrestling revealed that, due to his commitments with New Japan Pro Wrestling, Zack Sabre Jr. won’t be able to wrestle at their Wembley Arena show on September 30. NJPW’s Fighting Spirit Unleashed show will take place in Long Beach on September 30, and Will Ospreay also had to be pulled from the PROGRESS card because of it.
Jimmy Havoc vs. Christopher Daniels, Mark Haskins vs. Jonathan Gresham, Joe Hendry vs. Hangman Page, and Kip Sabian vs. Flip Gordon will be the first round matches in ROH’s International Cup tournament in Edinburgh and Doncaster next month. The winner will challenge for the ROH World Championship in London on August 19.
Marty Scurll vs. Kenny King, Karen Q vs. Jenny Rose, and Jay Briscoe vs. Christopher Daniels have been announced for ROH’s TV tapings at Center Stage in Atlanta this Saturday.
Evolve has announced for 8/4 in Philadelphia Matt Riddle vs. Shane Strickland for the Evolve title, Joey Janela vs. AR Fox in a non-title match, Darby Allin vs. Austin Theory and JD Drake vs. Jon Davis vs. Odinson vs. Josh Briggs.

Impact Wrestling has announced that Curtis Granderson of the Toronto Blue Jays will be appearing at Slammiversary this Sunday as the ‘title holder’ for the main event between Austin Aries and Moose. The co-promotion with the Blue Jays will also include John Hennigan throwing out the first pitch at this Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Orioles at the Rogers Centre.

In major wrestling news since it involves ROH TV exposure, FCC Chairman Ajit Pai said he has serious concerns about the Sinclair Broadcasting merger with Tribune Media and that the agency would not approve it. They felt that they had an issue with Sinclair selling a number of stations but retaining control of those stations. The decision surprised a lot of people. Those opposing the merger have the votes to keep it from happening. Had the merger gone through, Sinclair would have owned 215 stations in 102 markets, and would reach 59 percent of the country. The FCC has ruled that one company can only have local stations covering 39 percent of the country, so they were selling 23 stations to keep under that number, but the deal means they would still control the stations they were selling. The merger not being approved blocks ROH from television in places like New York, Chicago and Los Angeles unless things are amended.

I have said MANY times that anyone that is expecting WWE to become NXT if/when HHH takes over will be very disappointed. That won’t happen. But, what I do expect to happen is for more logic to come to the product. I also expect that there will be more explanations to things, as opposed to now when we are often expected to just accept things that often make no sense. So I expect a tighter, more logical product, but one that stays within the kid friendly confines that they are in now. And you know what? That’s OK. The Simpsons has been on for years because kids like it and their parents do as well.

The Nikki-Cena breakup stuff has been mostly a dud in terms of interest for this season and probably not what WWE, E!, and/or the Bellas were expecting coming into the season. Probably didn't help that Nikki "spoiled" the story by getting back together with Cena right before the season started making the whole thing feel fake.
